So, I love a good tag and have found another one to do. I am obviously not the one that made it up, instead it came from Book Coma
Hardback or Paperback?
I definitely prefer hardback to the stiff UK paperbacks. Those amazing floppy US paperbacks are however, a miracle! I think in terms of look for the shelf, hardback, but for actual reading, US paperback.
Harry Potter or Lord of The Rings?
This is an easy one, Harry Potter!!! I am obviously a major Harry Potter fan, this love is often questioned at work by the sad muggles and I explain that I am the Harry Potter generation. What also makes this an easy question is the fact that I have never read Lord of the Rings.
Stephen King or R.L. Stine?
Another easy one, I have never read any Stephen King and I love a good Goosebumps, who doesn’t? Fools, that’s who!
Sci-Fi or Fantasy?
I don’t particularly like either. Flowers for Algernon is one of my favourite books ever though and that counts as science fiction so I guess I will go with that!
Reading Indoors or Outdoors?
Definitely indoors, I get chilly! I will read outside if that’s where we are, like when by finance is surfing or something but really I like to be in my study with a blanky, yes I am indeed a grown up.
Twilight or 50 Shades of Grey?
Another one that is easy as I have only read one of them. I love 50 Shades of Grey. I know lots of people moan about it and think it’s either trashy or abusive but I love it. Firstly, sometimes trashy is nice, it’s fun and easy. When I first started as a junior doctor I started reading trashy magazines when I got a break on nights because it was a nice way to relax. As for it being abusive, I don’t really get that to be honest. They are both adults, she knows what to expect better than you would in any other relationship given that they go through a very detailed contract discussing it all before doing anything!
Shopping Online or Local?
This depends. I do most shopping, for most things, online. I would prefer to buy all my physical books in store because I love going around a bookshop but in reality it is often cheaper online. Also, if I want something immediately, or at 4am for example, the only way to get it is as an ebook.
The Great Gatsby or The Catcher in the Rye?
The Great Gatsby. I didn’t really like The Catcher in the Rye at all.
Fiction or Non-fiction?
Definitely fiction. I will read the odd non-fiction but fiction all the way!!!
Bookmarks or Dog-Earing?
I don’t think dog-earing is the crime most hardcore readers do, but I do prefer to use a bookmark.
Dr.Seuss or Roald Dahl?
Roald Dahl definitely. Matilda is probably the book I have read the most, of all books ever, not just Roald Dahl. Dr Seuss is more of an American thing I think, I didn’t read any of it growing up.
E-books or Audiobooks?
E-books. I love e-books. I sort of consider audiobooks cheating too. I know they are a great idea for things like commuting, but it’s not actually reading and I don’t think you can claim to have read a book that you have only listened to.
So, that’s it! Feel free to do the tag yourselves, or let me know if there are any you think I should do!
Nice one! Most of your choices would be my choices, too. 🙂
